List of Reciprocal Clubs
Reciprocity: rec·i·proc·i·ty (resəˈpräsədē); noun; 1. the practice of exchanging things with others for mutual benefit, especially privileges granted by one country or organization to another. Reciprocity is the policy under which special advantages are granted by one side in consideration of the same by the other.
SHYC Club Members: Membership in the Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club includes the privilege of visiting other clubs which recognize SHYC as a reciprocal organization. It is advisable that our members contact any club they plan to visit in advance to be informed of requirements for visitors, learn the club’s customs and traditions and to avoid disappointment upon arrival. Some clubs require a letter of introduction from the Commodore or General Manager of SHYC and/or presentation of a current SHYC membership card. Please provide the name and address of the club you wish to visit, and SHYC will be happy to accommodate your request for an introductory letter. Please give notice 24 hours prior to arrival to the Club office for letters of introduction to be forwarded.
Visiting Guests: Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club may accommodate members of other legitimate yacht clubs which in turn recognize SHYC as a reciprocal club. Proof of membership is required and usage is subject to SHYC’s rules. Visit our Guest Reservations page for information to reserve a slip with us.
