About SHYC

Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club, located at the mouth of the Saugatuck River in Westport, Connecticut, was founded in 1959. The club has about 200 member families with 160 boats each having its own slip.

The split between sailboats and power boats is about even. Cruising, fishing and racing are the main on-water activities with a busy year-round entertainment schedule for the members. There are active youth, book and singing groups.

Situated in a residential area, Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club has a peaceful ambience. Transient yachtsmen are welcome and may utilize the pool, laundry, bathhouse and barbecue areas that were completely renovated in 2015. Taxis are easily available to take visitors to any of the area's many great restaurants and entertainment attractions.

The main clubhouse was originally the carriage barn and stable for a large estate.
